Wrought iron.
Hand-forged light fixtures from the schmiedelaterne.eu workshop are not the result of automated mass production. Each piece is the embodiment of traditional blacksmithing craft, where raw steel transforms into art through fire, forge, and hammer blows.
The power of fire and human hands: How true blacksmith art is born
The foundation of every light fixture, whether it is the elegant STELLA wall lamp or the majestic EMMA standing lantern, is solid metal heated glowing red in the forge at extreme temperatures. At this moment, the precise physical work of the master blacksmith begins:
- Shaping on the anvil: The blacksmith strikes the glowing steel with a hammer, stamping the desired shape into it millimeter by millimeter.
- Artistic bending and details: Elegant historical curves and Empire-style decorations are created by manually bending and twisting the material while hot.
- A trace of authenticity: Each hammer blow leaves a unique texture on the metal surface, making every single light fixture an absolute original.
- Solid construction: Unlike the thin, hollow sheets found in regular stores, we work with solid, heavy metal that maintains stability and will not bend.
